ghostscript software package provides interpreter for the PostScript language and for PDF, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ghostscript
ghostscript is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ghostscript package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ghostscript *
You will get with ghostscript package name, version, architecture and description in a table
